The Bolivian President and a Russian political leader have launched a campaign to revoke Obama’s honour after the US attacked Libya.Liberal Democratic Party of Russia leader and Vice-Chairman of the State Duma Vladimir Zhirinovsky released a statement today calling for the Nobel Prize Committee to take back the honour bestowed on US President Barack Obama in 2009. Zhirinovsky said the attacks were “another outrageous act of aggression by NATO forces and, in particular, the United States,” and that the attacks demonstrated a “colonial policy” with “one goal: to establish control over Libyan oil and the Libyan regime.” He said the prize was now hypocriticalas a result.___________

2 | UN Powers Violate Their Own Resolution By Targeting Gaddafi

Attack on Libya is illegal under both U.S. law and UN charter; Manufactured pretext of “protecting civilians” completely collapses as Russia, Arab League and African Union condemn air strikesPaul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet.com
Monday, March 21, 2011As the contrived moral high ground behind the absurdly hypocritical “humanitarian” pretext of the attack on Libya collapses in the wake of Russia, the Arab League and the African Union condemning the US-led NATO bombings, so does any pretense of legality that the “no fly zone” resolution holds, because the obvious attempt to assassinate Gaddafi violates not only U.S. law, but the UN’s own charter.Vladimir Putin’s characterization of the air strikes as a “medieval crusade” and his warning that the attacks prove why Russia has to build up its defenses against NATO is the most damning indictment of the campaign thus far. It follows an Arab League u-turn as well as an African Union condemnation, as all the lies and bluster about a “humanitarian mission” crumble within days of the assault being launched. The Orwellian delusion that the “no fly zone” anything other than a cruel hoax became obvious within hours, as NATO rejected Libya’s proposal for independent third party countries to patrol the skies and instead launched an instantaneous bombardment of Gaddafi’s military facilities, strikes that have killed dozens of innocent people according to Libyan claims that have been confirmed by Russia. From the very beginning, this war had nothing to do with “protecting civilians” and everything to do with toppling the leader of Africa’s richest oil nation. Now western leaders have all but admitted that the sole focus of the campaign is to kill Gaddafi, as air strikes pound targets around the beleaguered Libyan leader.Asked if Gaddafi could be assassinated to force regime change, British defence secretary Liam Fox said that the Libyan leader was a “legitimate target,” adding, “That would potentially be a possibility,” entertaining a notion that was soon backed up by force as RAF warplanes reduced Gaddafi’s Tripoli compound to rubble last night after a massive air bombardment.Fox later said that a “bunker-buster” attack on Gaddafi’s residence was also being considered.Meanwhile, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, French President Nicolas Sarkozy, and British Prime Minister David Cameron have all gone on record to state that Gaddafi “must go,” “needs to go,” and has “lost his legitimacy”.In addition, Salwa el-Deghali, of the national transitional council, called for, “More attacks on Gaddafi’s forces, and fast. We need these attacks until he is crushed.”Does this sound like a mission to protect civilians or a mission to topple Gaddafi, especially given the fact that SAS commanders have been on the ground for weeks, again in violation of the UN resolution, directly supporting Libyan rebel armies? The UN resolution that supposedly gave the air strikes their legal foundation does not authorize the use of military force to enact regime change, and yet that’s precisely what NATO and the United States is pursuing – the murder or removal of Gaddafi.Once again we are reminded of the fact that the United Nations only abides by its own resolutions when it is convenient. The UN will flagrantly violate its own charter with relish if there is a pre-existing geopolitical agenda to accomplish.International law codified under the UN prohibits state-sponsored assassination, except under conditions of warfare. By characterizing the attack on Libya as merely a “no fly zone,” and stopping short of declaring war on on the country, the UN along with the powers that signed the resolution, namely America, France, Britain and Italy, are in violation of their own resolution by targeting Gaddafi.Indeed, killing Gaddafi would be a war crime because it clearly qualifies as an act of “treachery” under Article 23 of the Hague Convention IV of 1907. Even in times of declared war, assassinating a leader under false pretenses is illegal.“A state that uses “treachery” to kill an enemy may be guilty of war crimes,” states the Encyclopedia of Genocide and Crimes Against Humanity. “Article 23 of the Hague Convention IV of 1907 provides that “it is especially forbidden . . . to kill or wound treacherously, individuals belonging to the hostile nation or army.” Treachery is usually defined as a breach of confidence, such as an attack on an individual who believes that there is no need to fear the attacker.”In addition, under U.S. law, employees of the United States are prohibited from engaging in assassination during peacetime. This law has of course been violated numerous times, most notably in 1986 when the Reagan administration attempted to kill Gaddafi by bombing army barracks where Libyan leader was known to be sleeping. The attack on Libya is not only immoral, with the “humanitarian” pretext transparently a pack of lies, it is also completely unconstitutional having not been authorized by the U.S. Congress. As Francis Boyle, Professor of international law at the University of Illinois College of Law, points out, “Without authorization by the United Nations Security Council and express authorization from the U.S. Congress pursuant to the terms of the War Powers Resolution, for President Obama to establish any type of so-called ‘no-fly zone’ over Libya would be illegal and unconstitutional.”Above all, since the assault was launched under UN auspices with the presumed “legitimacy” of the international community, it directly violates the UN’s own charter in that the entire scope of the mission is about regime change, supporting one side in a civil war, and has nothing whatsoever to do with “protecting civilians”.*********************Paul Joseph Watson is the editor and writer for Prison Planet.com. 3| US Makes War on Another Muslim Country With Oil

Carlos Latuff/Deviant Art

Following the US-lobbied UN authorization of military murder in Libya, the death-dealing regime of Colonel Gaddafi said immediately that it would stop all killing. That put Obama’s war on hold, for a little while. The crazy Colonel has learned a thing or two about American foreign policy. If you pretend to favor the stated goals of the empire and comply with its stated dictates, you can otherwise do what every government in the world is structured to do: stay in power at all costs.

Gaddafi learned this lesson about a decade ago, when, with much fanfare, he announced that he would stop his nuclear weapons program and join the war on terror. The US then decided to rank him and his regime among the world’s good guys, and proceeded to hold him up as an example of wise statesmanship. Then he proceeded to dig in more deeply and tighten his despotic control over his citizens, all with the implied blessing of the US.

But this time it may not work. For weeks, American officials have been decrying Gaddafi’s bloody attacks on his people, but does the US really have a problem with dictatorship of his sort? This fact is unknown to Americans, but in the Middle East, and in Arab nations in particular, American commercial interests are regarded as a force for liberation but not the US government. The US has been the key to the power of Middle East dictatorships for decades, among which are Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Yemen. I leave aside the killing of hundreds of thousands of Iaqi civilians to liberate them.

4 | U.S. Government Backs Libyan Al-Qaeda While Hyping Terror Attacks Inside U.S.

Hypocrisy run rampant: Obama administration fearmongers about Libyan-backed terrorists carrying out reprisal attacks in America while launching air strikes to support terrorists in LibyaPaul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet.com
Sunday, March 20, 2011Achieving new heights of hypocrisy, the U.S government is hyping the threat of Libyan-backed reprisal terror attacks inside the United States, while launching air strikes in support of so-called “protesters” who have commandeered fighter jets and tanks, and are in fact Islamic fundamentalist Al-Qaeda cells who want to impose sharia law in Libya. The New York Times reports that Libya may “lash out” against the Orwellian “no fly zone,” which in reality represents constant bombardment, by sending terrorists to carry out attacks against U.S. interests.“Asked if American officials feared whether Colonel Qaddafi could open a new terrorism front, President Obama’s top counterterrorism official John O. Brennan said: “Qaddafi has the penchant to do things of a very concerning nature. We have to anticipate and be prepared for things he might try to do to flout the will of the international community.”“Al Qaeda has a demonstrated track record of trying to exploit political vacuums, political change or uncertainty in a number of countries,” Mr. Brennan added. “The situation in Libya now will be no exception.”This is pretty rich considering the fact that it was British MI6 and the CIA who paid Osama bin Laden and Al-Qaeda $100,000 dollars to assassinate Gaddafi in 1996.In 2002 French intelligence experts revealed how western intelligence agencies bankrolled a Libyan Al-Qaeda cell controlled directly by Bin Laden to hatch a plot to kill Gaddafi that was foiled in March 1996. The cell was led by Anas al-Liby, who was with Bin Laden in Sudan before Bin Laden returned to Afghanistan.Indeed, it was Gaddafi’s Libya who put out the first Interpol warrant for Bin Laden’s arrest in 1998. Western intelligence agencies blocked the warrant from being pursued, and allowed Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda to go on and kill more than 200 people in the truck bombings of US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania. Some of the very rebels now being funded and trained by western forces were part of the Al-Qaeda cell that tried to kill Gaddafi on behalf of the United States and Britain 15 years ago.As the London Telegraph reports, “The West and al-Qaeda on the same side.” Libyan Al-Qaeda leaders have offered their unanimous support for the ousting of Gaddafi.“An al-Qaeda leader of Libyan origin, Abu Yahya al-Libi, released a statement backing the insurrection a week ago, while Yusuf Qaradawi, the Qatar-based, Muslim Brotherhood-linked theologian issued a fatwa authorising Col Gaddafi’s military entourage to assassinate him,” writes Richard Spencer, highlighting how the “rebels” are in fact religious extremists hell bent on imposing sharia law in Libya. While the global establishment media has characterized these mobs as “protesters,” even as they commandeer fighter jets and tanks, and used allegations of Gaddafi brutality against them as a justification for air strikes, in reality they largely comprise of radical Islamic fundamentalists who will end up being more savage in their abuse of power than anything Gaddafi was ever accused of, should the air strikes lead to regime change. The ordinary Libyan people, the majority of whom support Gaddafi, are caught in the middle, which is why many of them are now trying to flee Tripoli. The UN-backed air strikes have absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with protecting the human rights of “protesters”. The air strikes and Tomahawk missiles have been launched in support of terrorist cells so that the US military-industrial complex can repeat its age-old trick of installing a radical Islamic regime which they can later overthrow, giving them strategic access to the region and allowing them to control the largest oil reserves on the African continent. This is about giving war a new facelift, leaving the new world order free to pillage any country they like in the name of “humanitarian” assistance. The fact that the establishment media, particularly the BBC, which has aggressively pushed this “humanitarian” hoax in its rapacious cheerleading effort for the conquest, is parroting the narrative that this is a just war, when in reality it is about helping Al-Qaeda terrorists to carry through a coup d’état, is the ultimate hypocrisy. It’s a hypocrisy made more revolting by the fact that liberals who so vehemently opposed the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq are now willing to offer their enthusiastic backing for military attacks having bought the sickening lie that the likes of the United States, which kills scores of innocent people every week with predator drone strikes, has now suddenly developed a conscience for human suffering. It’s also galling to witness the likes of Fox News and mainstream conservatives, who screamed until they were blue in the face about a mosque being built at ground zero in New York, now ignorantly applauding a United Nations-ordered war with no congressional approval which is solely designed to bring Al-Qaeda affiliated Islamic fundamentalists to power. The whole farce mirrors Bill Clinton’s bombing campaigns in Bosnia and Serbia, which were also about helping Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda to topple autocratic but relatively moderate regimes, and were also military conquests packaged in the cloak of “humanitarian” deception by the global establishment media.*********************Paul Joseph Watson is the editor and writer for Prison Planet.com. 5 | Libya: Another War, Another Pack of Lies

Tony Cartalucci, Contributing Writer
Activist PostThe corporate-financiers are dangerously flirting with their entire official narrative collapsing, as their progressive, Peace-Prize wearing puppet President Obama and the “radical reformer” David Cameron lead yet another war based on an Iraq-style pack of lies. After weeks of peddling a litany of verifiable lies, the West has forgone any attempt to justify or veil their actions in legitimacy and has decided to go ahead with a UN rubber-stamped “no-fly zone.” Far from having anything to do with preventing Qaddafi’s planes from flying, the no-fly zone has translated into full-scale missile and aerial bombardments across Libya aimed at turning the tide for freshly rearmed Western-backed rebels. The pack of lies.Indeed, the same London Telegraph now dashing across their headlines “Britain and America have rained missiles on Libya as Col Muammar Gaddafi defied the world and continued to attack civilians,” told us in the early stages of the US-backed Libyan unrest that Qaddafi had fled to Venezuela, citing “credible Western intelligence sources.”Of course, evidence that Qaddafi has been “attacking civilians” has not yet been produced in any shape form or way with US Department of Defense’s Robert Gates and Admiral Mullen in fact, both confirming “We’ve seen no confirmation whatsoever.” Additionally, BBC made an apparently little read footnote that their reports were impossible to verify.

BBC states in their article “The difficulty of reporting from inside Libya:” “The BBC and other news organisations are relying on those on the ground to tell us what’s happening. Their phone accounts – often accompanied by the sound or gunfire and mortars – are vivid. However, inevitably, it means we cannot independently verify the accounts coming out of Libya. That’s why we don’t present such accounts as “fact” – they are “claims” or “allegations”.”Apparently “claims” and “allegations” are all the UN needed to rubber stamp yet another globalist war of conquest as they continue to sew together their one world government. The Russian government went as far as bringing forth evidence that suggests such air strikes never even took place. As for the globalist-run media’s claims that Qaddafi fled to Venezuela, of course, Colonel Qaddafi is still obviously in Libya.Even the globalist International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) made note in their 1 hour and 20 minute military briefing, that Libya’s Qaddafi was most likely going through extraordinary measures to avoid excessive civilian loses, so as to not play into the West’s desire for military intervention.
When the globalist policy wonks speak frankly, outside the short-attention
span of the general public, they talk of Qaddafi’s professional forces taking
special care to avoid civilian casualties knowing full well it will fuel calls for
Western intervention. (@16:26)

Now, the typical ploy of accusing besieged nations of using “human shields” is already being oafishly employed by the likes of the Independent in their article “Libya: The UN strikes back.” The very title itself is misleading, as the UN was merely a tool used to justify and authorize an otherwise unacceptable war the US and UK populations would have categorically refused to enter. The ability for the US to circumvent its constitution (Article I, Section 8, Clause 11) along with the will of the American people points the finger of “illegitimacy” toward the West at least as much as it is being pointed at Libya’s Qaddafi. What can be confirmed? What we can confirm, is that the entire Libyan rebel movement has been backed by the US and UK for nearly 3o years. We can confirm that the initial calls for a Libyan “Day of Rage” came not from the streets of Benghazi, but from the London based National Conference for Libyan Opposition (NCLO). We can confirm that NCLO leader Ibrahim Sahad was literally sitting in front of the White House giving an interview to the Western media in the opening stages of the Libyan unrest, parroting verbatim the West’s desire to militarily intervene with a no-fly zone.

Libyan opposition NFSL/NCLO leader Ibrahim Sahad, parroting the globalist calls for intervention in Libya, sits in front of the White House in Washington D.C.We can also confirm that confessed terrorists like Noman Benotman, who had previously consorted with both the MI6 and Osama Bin Laden, are now offering their full support for the armed rebels in Libya. Ironically, Benotman’s support for armed militant rebels, including released Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG) members, manifests itself through the “Quilliam Foundation,” which was founded in part to disband and disavow armed militancy. It is quite clear that the globalists had decided part of their US State Department sponsored “Arab Spring” would include removing Libya’s Qaddafi from power. No reality on the ground will prevent the globalists from achieving this goal, including the necessity to send troops on the ground if the current bombing and missile campaign fails to tip the balance in the Libyan rebels’ favor. The corporate owned media has descended to a new level of unprecedented, shameless propaganda to hammer their misshapen agenda into an ill-fitting reality.Remember Fukushima

The globalist “international community” and mandate has never been more clearly illegitimate, squandered, and abused than it is now. While Japan suffers the worst catastrophe in its history, a catastrophe that includes the largest recorded earthquake in human history, a devastating tsunami and multiple nuclear meltdowns, the West pursues with the entirety of its resources, energy, and influence a war of profit and expansion in Libya – under the poorly dressed guise of “humanitarian concerns.” As it has been pointed out, such concerns are unverified and entirely based on what the BBC itself calls “allegations” and “claims.” Meanwhile, an irrefutable, unprecedented humanitarian disaster unfolds in northeastern Japan.

As if meddling in a foreign nation’s affairs based on a pack of lies isn’t bad enough, doing so when resources are desperately needed amidst a real disaster amounts to the zenith of criminal negligence. The West once again proves they are the greatest purveyors of crimes against humanity, through simultaneous action in Libya, and inaction in Japan.Such irresponsible leadership, with such self-serving priorities that clearly leave the vast majority of humanity out in the cold does not deserve our respect, our obedience, or our support. Identify the corporate-financier oligarchs that make up this malicious self-appointed “global consensus” and put them out of business via a full-spectrum boycott and by replacing them permanently on a local level. While millions suffer in Japan and millions are in danger in Libya today, failing to strip these tyrants of their unwarranted influence will inevitably ensure the suffering and danger comes to you.Naming Names: Corporate-Financier Oligarchs to Boycott & ReplaceCFR Corporate Membership

6 | Obama Declares Unconstitutional War on Libya

Kurt Nimmo
Infowars

The United States declared yet another unconstitutional war in the Middle East today when it launched a bevy of deadly Tomahawk cruise missiles at the sovereign state of Libya.

Article One, Section Eight of the Constitution reads: “Congress shall have power to … declare War.”

Congress did not declare war on Libya. The globalist sock puppet Obama did.Speaking from Brasilia, Obamasaid that he had authorized “limited military action in Libya.”He does not have the authority to call for military action against other countries. The executive branch of the United States government, however, has engaged in this sort of unlawful and flagrant violation of the Constitution since the end of the Second World War.Congress recognizes no claimed power of the president to wage war outside of the War Powers Resolution. Congress passed the the War Powers Resolution in 1973 after Nixon illegally invaded Cambodia.

The War Powers Resolution became totally irrelevant when Congress passed the Iraq Resolution or the Iraq War Resolution in 2002 following the false flag attack of September 11, 2011.Obama and his globalist puppet masters have deep and undivided contempt for the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the American people. Obama placed his “authority” to kill Libyans on a flimsy framework earlier established by warmongers in France, Britain, Canada and Italy. The despicable French president Nicolas Sarkozy led the charge. His call for mass murder was described as “theatrical gravitas” by the corporate media. British Prime Minister David Cameron and Sarkozy met briefly Saturday to compare notes before an “international” (globalist) summit on Libya. Sarkozy also met with Madame Clinton.Cameron reportedly wants NATO to take a lead role in the act of war, while Sarkozy is said to want an “international leadership structure” independent of NATO – that is to say he wants handpicked globalist minions to run the show, probably from Brussels.Secretary of State Clinton said Arab efforts to “stop violence” – by initiating more deadly and well-organized violence – played a key role in mobilizing the international coalition. In fact, the Arabs took their marching orders from the Europeans and the United Nations and will be at best junior partners in the wanton slaughter. The globalists do not turn to third-rate Arab dictatorships like Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and the corrupt Gulf emirates for advice. In the days ahead, we can expect Arab ground troops to be sent into Libya to kill their Arab brothers. It is unlikely American soldiers will serve as bullet-stoppers in this engineered conflict, at least in the short term.

7 | Obama Starts Another Illegal War, Rangel Calls For Draft

Eric Blair

Activist PostWhat balls! What hubris! What hypocrisy! What happened to America?Once again, America has preemptively attacked a sovereign nation that posed no threat to her without a declaration of war from the people’s representatives. Apparently the U.S. president now gets permission from the U.N. to spend U.S. taxpayer dollars on unprovoked wars and outright murder.  Isn’t it still called murder when killing is not done in self-defense?  Okay, just checking to make sure I haven’t lost my mind.Nobel Peace prince Obama launched his liberation of the good people of Libya with his own shock-and-awe bombing campaign appropriately on the eighth anniversary of Bush’s illegal invasion of Iraq.  This tyrannical intervention is so naked, so brazen in its hubris that whatever shred of goodwill America had left is completely gone.  America is officially the most murderous, anti-democratic, terrorist nation the world has ever known. And get this, on the very same day of this unconstitutional act of war, ethically-challenged Charlie Rangel reintroduced his National Service “Draft” bill.  Rangel pointed out in his announcementthat the government lied us into the Iraq war that ultimately resulted in the deaths of over 4,400 servicemen with over 32,000 injured.  He claims this is the reason we need a draft:

Based on false pretenses of weapons of mass destruction and involvement in the 9/11 attacks, the unfunded war in Iraq has cost our nation not only $800 billion dollars, but the lives of more than 4,400 brave American patriots. Over 32,000 U.S. soldiers have also been seriously wounded in the war we should not have been in the first place.

It is because of these devastating statistics and the commitment our nation must make to sharing in duty and service that I reintroduced the Universal National Service Act, commonly known as the draft bill.

You can’t make this stuff up.  So, our government lies us into wars for profit and oil, thrusts our brave young men and women in harms way against poor nations who in their wildest dreams couldn’t threaten America, and puts off paying for them as long as the banks and China get their interest payments at gunpoint from the taxpayer. And now you want to forceall of our kids to take part in this sociopathic behavior?Rangel continues:

Currently the burden of defending our nation is carried by an increasingly smaller segment of our population. Only 1 percent of the American population currently makes the sacrifice of laying down life and limb for our country.

Far too many are being forced into repeated tours of duty, sometimes as many as six deployments. This repeated combat exposure to our troops is why 25 percent of America’s active duty military personnel suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). It is why the Army’s current suicide rate is far above the civilian rate at 22-per-100,000.  The rate for the Marine Corps is even higher.

Boy, Rangel is a first-rate salesman.  Who could resist the idea of forcing their children into repeated tours of duty and a 1-in-4 chance of getting ruined by PTSD?  Or, making them so miserable that they think suicide is better than killing poor brown people for Big Oil profits and their pocket-change politicians — all while bankrupting the country and their home towns in the process?Rangel’s pitch that a draft would alleviate these problems is ill-conceived, as he even pointed out: “Having a draft does not necessarily mean that everyone called to duty would be required to serve in the Armed forces.”  Who in their right mind would choose the Armed forces in this corrupt imperial climate if given a choice of community services?Of course, liberals like to think Rangel’s hidden argument is that a draft would actually discourage war by making the people pay more attention to the wars enough to protest. Wake up! We can’t even get Congress to vote for these wars anymore!  The notion that the decision makers will actually give a shit about the people’s will is laughable.  Besides, we all know how they handle peaceful protesters these days, despite their lofty rhetoric of fighting for people’s rights in foreign countries. At this point, it seems the only thing that can stop these conquistadors is when soldiers start refusing to fight en masse.  They, and they alone, have the power to end this insanity.  As Albert Einstein said “Nothing will end war unless the people themselves refuse to go to war.”  God help them find the courage and moral compass to end this tyranny.

8 | Final Call
Sunday, March 20, 2011“Well, today our dear brother (Obama) has to be very, very careful in this decision that he and his Secretary of State, and [French President Nicolas] Sarkozy and [British] Prime Minister [David] Cameron and others are planning. They would love to go into Libya and kill Brother Gadhafi, and kill his children as they did with Saddam Hussein and his sons, Qusay and Uday. You must remember, dear people of America, that whenever government wants you to think and act in a certain way that would bring justification to an action that they are already planning to make, they must make the person that they hate a ‘boogey man,’ ” he said. Col. Gadhafi, who led a bloodless coup against a U.S. ally over 40 years ago, has seen constant negative publicity and was once called the “Mad Dog of the Middle East” by American leaders and analysts.

“Who The Hell Do You Think You Are?” Farrakhan Blasts Obama On Libya Bombing Africa Libya map 2

‘Is it that you’re (U.S. officials) so concerned over the blood that is being shed in Libya, when you looked the other way when the Israeli Defense Force was bombing the innocent people of Gaza, unarmed men, women and children?’

People unhappy with government are not solely in Libya, he pointed out. Many are unhappy with Mr. Obama, he said. The U.S. government has a long history of deposing leaders of other nations in order to get natural resources, more specifically-oil, he continued, saying the imperialistic forces are not interested in saving those being killed, it is just a “noble motive to hide your (the U.S. government’s) wicked agenda!”“When George W. Bush was president, he said they wanted regime change in Iran, in (North) Korea regime change-how do you get regime change America? How do you do that? Congress, the Congress of the United States, voted to spend $150 million to replace the government in Iran that America doesn’t like, so they send their agents in to work among the dissatisfied. So when they had this election, and the people in Iran rose up, they have legitimate grievances, all right-but stimulated from the outside,” Minister Farrakhan continued. “Well, what about Libya? How much money is being spent to arm the so-called rebels? They’re dissatisfied! Well, what is their dissatisfaction about? Do they (Libyans) have jobs? Yes. Do they have food? Yes. Has Gadhafi used the oil money to build Libya? Yes. Did Gadhafi use oil money and discover water under the Sahara Desert, and brought that water to the surface; and brought water from Benghazi all the way to the border almost of Tunisia? Did he impose farming in the desert so that they could feed their own people? Yes. Are there billions of dollars that he’s spending building homes, building apartments for his people? Yes. So something is under this!” said Minister Farrakhan.“Is it that you’re (U.S. officials) so concerned over the blood that is being shed in Libya, when you looked the other way when the Israeli Defense Force was bombing the innocent people of Gaza, unarmed men, women and children? … You looked the other way when the Israeli Defense Force went into Lebanon thinking that they were going to have an easy victory, then you had to come out with your tail between your legs?”Minister Farrakhan said Col. Gadhafi has been investing money in Africa, enjoys international friendship, and should not be killed simply because he is not America’s friend.“Now, I want to warn you, in the Name of Allah, that this is more complex than what you think! Go into Libya if you want to. The Libyans do not want foreign occupation on their land. And when you make that kind of move, if you’re not careful, you’ll unite the Libyan people against you!”Inside America members of the Branch Davidian religious sect were killed in 1993 in Waco, Texas, by federal law enforcement, while men, women and children of the MOVE organization were killed when police bombed their home during a 1985 standoff in Philadelphia, he said. Current American outrage is nothing but hypocrisy, the Minister said.To President Obama, Minister Farrakhan delivered a pointed warning: “Don’t let these wicked demons move you in a direction that will absolutely ruin your future with your people in Africa and throughout the world. They don’t like the way you handled (former Egyptian President Hosni) Mubarak! They don’t like the way you’re handling the situation in the Arab world! So I would advise you to be careful-and move with wisdom and skill. And then, Minister Farrakhan offered President Obama some divine advice.“Why don’t you organize a group of respected Americans, and ask for a meeting with Gadhafi? You can’t order him to step down, and get out-who the hell do you think you are, that you can talk to a man that built a country over 42 years, and ask him step down and get out? Can anybody ask you? Well, well there’s a lot, now, [that are] going to ask you to step out of the White House, because they don’t want a Black face in the White House,” said Minister Farrakhan.“Be careful, brother, how you handle this situation because it is coming to America! It has already started. Look in Wisconsin! Look in Ohio! Look at what’s going on in your country! And remember your words because the American people are rising against their own government: It’s not Muslims; it’s not Black people! It’s White militias that are angry with their government, and they are well armed. Are you going to tell them-’Put your arms down, and let’s talk it over peacefully?’ I hope so. But if not, America will be bathed in blood, not because Farrakhan said so, but because the dissatisfaction in America has reached the boiling point. Be careful how you manipulate the dissatisfaction in Libya and other parts of the Muslim world,” he warned.FLASHBACK: Farrakhan’s recent speeches suggest he is coming to the realization that the enemy is not the white man, but the new world order that seeks to dominate, brutalize and degrade people of every color and creed throughout the world.

9 |US remains military muscle in Libya campaign

Wikimedia Commons Image

AFPWASHINGTON (AFP) – The United States stepped aside  to allow NATO to run Libya no-fly operations, but the US military’s enormous strike power remains the real muscle behind the coalition effort.Having held back before plunging into a mission with ill-defined objectives, Washington took the reins Saturday of a coalition tasked rather ambiguously with using “all necessary measures” to protect Libyan civilians.President Barack Obama, who is under fire from Republicans at home for entering a conflict without a clear exit strategy or endgame, wants to transfer command as quickly as possible to European and Arab allies.Obama is wary about how America will be perceived in the Arab world, particularly given the current turmoil sweeping the Middle East and North Africa, and also the damage done by his predecessor’s invasion of Iraq.US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton applauded NATO’s decision to take command of no-fly operations and hinted a deal was in the works for the transatlantic military alliance to take broader control of all operations.”We have agreed, along with our NATO allies, to transition command and control for the no-fly zone over Libya to NATO. All 28 allies have also now authorized military authorities to develop an operations plan for NATO to take on the broader civilian protection mission under Resolution 1973.”But Muslim-majority member Turkey has balked at giving NATO command of strikes on ground targets and NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen suggested further discussions would be required over the weekend.”At the moment, there will still be a coalition operation and a NATO operation,” Rasmussen said.US Vice Admiral Bill Gortney meanwhile said the Pentagon was “working very hard on the military side to be able to hand over the lead of this operation to a coalition command structure as early as this weekend.”All this does not exactly send a clear message to Libyan strongman Moamer Kadhafi that the coalition is united and in the battle for the long haul. After sustaining almost one week of air and missile strikes, loyalist forces show no sign of the large-scale mutinies the predominantly Western alliance was clearly hoping for, and Kadhafi appears to be digging in.

The command debate, however, may be more for political show than about real changes on the ground if NATO eventually does take the mantle, according to Lawrence Korb, from the Center for American Progress think-tank.”It will help to change the perception of the operation,” particularly in the Arab world, Korb told AFP. “The US is a critical part of the operation but we want to do it behind the scene.”French jets dropped the first bombs in the conflict before Tomahawk cruise missiles followed from US and British submarines. Now the 12-country coalition includes Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Italy, Norway, Qatar, Spain, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates.More than half the 350 aircraft involved belong to the United States, but Gortney said that over the preceding 24 hours partner nations had flown “roughly half” of the 130 coalition sorties.Twenty-six of the 38 ships in the Gulf of Sirte enforcing the UN arms embargo — also under NATO command — are from other countries, and Turkey has now offered five ships and a submarine. But with several submarines, destroyers, the USS Mount Whitney command-and-control vessel, specialized surveillance aircraft as well as its fleet of fighter jets, the United States — also the main contributor to NATO — will remain at the heart of operations.”The phrase that we use is that the United States will contribute its unique military capabilities to whatever this second phase of operation would be,” General Carter Ham, the commander of US forces, told ABC News.”There’s probably some intelligence support that we would continue to provide, some communications, tankers for aircraft…. But we wouldn’t see probably a large number of fighter aircraft for example.”Ham said he was confident command could be handed over “relatively quickly” but admitted there were some “very, very complex” procedures, especially with air operations, that might lengthen that transition period.

Former U.S. Asset who covered Libya at the United Nations from 1995 to 2003Who are we kidding? The United States, Britain and NATO don’t care about bombing civilians to contain rebellion. Their militaries bomb civilians every day without mercy. They have destroyed most of the community infrastructure of Iraq and Afghanistan before turning their sights on Libya. So what’s really going on here?According to the CIA, the following never happened…Last October, US oil giants— Chevron and Occidental Petroleum— made a surprising decision to pull out of Libya, while China, Germany and Italy stayed on, signing major contracts with Gadhaffi’s government.  As the U.S. Asset who started negotiations for the Lockerbie Trial with Libyan diplomats, I had close ties to Libya’s U.N. Mission from 1995 to 2003. Given my long involvement in the Lockerbie saga, I have continued to enjoy special access to high level intelligence gossip on Libya.

Last summer that gossip got juicy!About July, I started hearing that Gadhaffi was exerting heavy pressure on U.S. and British oil companies to cough up special fees and kick backs to cover the costs of Libya’s reimbursement to the families of Pan Am 103. Payment of damages for the Lockerbie bombing had been one of the chief conditions for ending U.N. sanctions on Libya that ran from 1992 until 2003. And of course the United Nations forced Gadhaffi to hand over two Libyan men for a special trial at The Hague, though everybody credible was fully conscious of Libya’s innocence in the Lockerbie affair. (Only ignorant politicians trying to score publicity points say otherwise.)Knowing Gadhaffi as well as I do, I was convinced that he’d done it. He’d bided his time until he could extort compensation from U.S. oil companies. He’s a crafty bastard, extremely intelligent and canny. That’s exactly how he operates. And now he was taking his revenge. As expected, the U.S. was hopping mad about it. Gadhaffi wasn’t playing the game the way the Oil Bloodsuckers wanted. The Vampire of our age—the Oil Industry—roams the earth, sucking the life out of every nation to feed its thirst for profits. Only when they got to Libya, Gadhaffi took on the role of a modern-day Robin Hood, who insisted on replenishing his people for the costs they’d suffered under U.N. sanctions.Backing up a year earlier, in August 2009 the lone Libyan convicted of the Lockerbie bombing that killed 270 people, Abdelbasset Megrahi, won a compassionate release from Scottish prison. Ostensibly, the British government and Scottish Courts granted Megrahi’s request to die at home with dignity from advance stage cancer—in exchange for dropping a legal appeal packed with embarrassments for the European Courts. The decision to free Megrahi followed shocking revelations of corruption at the special Court of The Hague that handled the Lockerbie Trial. Prosecution witnesses confessed to receiving payments of $4 million each from the United States, in exchange for testimony against Megrahi, a mind-blowing allegation of judicial corruption. The Lockerbie conviction was full of holes to begin with. Anybody who knows anything about terrorism in the 1980s knows the CIA got mixed up in heroin trafficking out of the Bekaa Valley during the hostage crisis in Lebanon. The Lockerbie conspiracy had been a false flag operation to kill off a joint CIA and Defense Intelligence investigation into kick backs from Islamic Jihad, in exchange for protecting the heroin transit network.According to my own CIA handler, Dr. Richard Fuisz, who’d been stationed in Lebanon and Syria at the time, the CIA had established a protected drug route from Lebanon to Europe and on to the United States. His statements support other sources that “Operation Corea” allowed Syrian drug dealers led by Monzer al-Kassar (also linked to Oliver North in the Iran-Contra scandal) to ship heroin to the U.S. ON Pan Am flights, in exchange for intelligence on the hostages’ whereabouts in Lebanon. The CIA allegedly made sure that suitcases carrying heroin were not searched at customs. Nicknamed the “Godfather of Terror,” Al Kassar is now serving a prison sentence for conspiring with Colombian drug cartels to assassinate U.S. nationals.Building up to Lockerbie, the Defense Intelligence team in Beirut, led by Maj. Charles Dennis McKee and Matthew Gannon, suspected that CIA infiltration of the heroin network might be prolonging the hostage crisis. If so, the consequence was severe. AP Reporter Terry Anderson got chained in a basement for 7 years, while 96 other high profile western hostages suffered beatings, mock executions and overall trauma. McKee’s team raised the alarms in Washington that a CIA double agent profiting from the narco-dollars might be warning the hostage takers whenever their dragnet closed in. Washington sent a fact-finding team to Lebanon to gather evidence. On the day it was blown out of the sky, Pan Am 103 was carrying that team of CIA and FBI investigators, the CIA’s Deputy Chief assigned to Beirut, and three Defense Intelligence officers, including McKee and Gannon, on their way to Washington to deliver a report on the CIA’s role in heroin trafficking, and the impact on terrorist financing and the hostage crisis. In short, everyone with direct knowledge of CIA kickbacks from heroin trafficking died on Pan Am 103. A suitcase packed with $500,000 worth of heroin was found in the wreckage. It belonged to investigators, as proof of the corruption. The punch line was that the U.S. State Department issued an internal travel advisory, warning that government officials should get off that specific flight on that specific day, because Pan Am 103 was expected to get bombed. That’s right, folks! The U.S. had prior knowledge of the attack.Unforgivably, nobody told Charles McKee or Matthew Gannon. But other military officials and diplomats got pulled off the flight—making room for a group of students from Syracuse University traveling stand by for the Christmas holidays. It was a monstrous act!  But condemning Megrahi to cover up the CIA’s role in heroin trafficking has struck many Lockerbie afficiandos as grossly unjust. Add the corruption of purchased testimony– $4 million a pop— and Megrahi’s life sentence struck a nerve of obscenity. It struck Gadhaffi as grievously offensive, as well—The United Nations had forced Libya to fork over $2.7 billion in damages to the Lockerbie families, a rate of $10 million for every death. Once it became clear the U.S. paid two key witnesses $4 million each to commit perjury, spook gossip throughout the summer was rife that Gadhaffi had taken bold action to demand compensation from U.S. (and probably British) oil corporations operating in Libya. More than likely, Libya’s demands for kick backs and compensation extended to other European oil conglomerates as well—particularly France and Italy—who are now spearheading attacks on Libya.I knew last summer there would be trouble. Payback would be a b—tch on both sides. You don’t lock an innocent man in prison for 10 years on bogus charges of terrorism, and expect forgiveness. The United States and Britain had behaved with remarkable selfishness. You’ve got to admit that Gadhaffi’s attempt to balance the scales of justice demonstrated a flair of righteous nationalism.Alas, Gadhaffi was playing with fire, no matter how justified his complaint. You don’t strike a tyrant without expecting a tyrant to strike back. And that’s exactly what’s happening today.Don’t kid yourself. This is an oil war, and it smacks of imperialist double standards. Two articles by Prof. Chossudovsky at the Global Research Centre are must reading: “Operation Libya and the Battle for Oil: Redrawing the Map of Africa” and Insurrection and Military Intervention: The US-NATO Attempted Coup d’Etat in Libya? There is simply no justification for U.S. or NATO action against Libya. The U.N. charter acknowledges the rights of sovereign nations to put down rebellions against their own governments. Moreover, many observers have commented that plans for military intervention appear to have been much more advanced than U.S. and European leaders want to admit. For myself, I know in my gut that war planning started months before the democratization movement kicked off throughout the Arab world—a lucky cover for U.S. and European oil policy. Perhaps too lucky. As Chossudovsky writes, “Hundreds of US, British and French military advisers arrived in Cyrenaica, Libya’s eastern breakaway province” on February 23 and 24— seven (7) days after the start of Gadhaffi’s domestic rebellion. “The advisers, including intelligence officers, were dropped from warships and missile boats at the coastal towns of Benghazi and Tobruk.” (DEBKAfile, US military advisers in Cyrenaica, Feb. 25, 2011) Special forces on the ground in Eastern Libya provided covert support to the rebels.”  Eight British Special Forces commandos were arrested in the Benghazi region, while acting as military advisers to opposition forces, according to the Times of London. We’re supposed to believe the United States, Britain and Europe planned, coordinated and executed a full military intervention in 7 short days— from the start of the Libyan rebellion in mid-February until military advisers appeared on the ground in Libya on February 23-24!That’s strategically impossible.Nothing can persuade me that Gadhaffi’s fate wasn’t decided months ago, when Chevron and Occidental Petroleum took their whining to Capitol Hill, complaining that Gadhaffi’s nationalism interfered with their oil profiteering. From that moment, military intervention was on the drawing board as surely as the Patriot Act got stuck in a drawer waiting for 9/11.The message is simple: Challenge the oil corporations and your government and your people will pay the ultimate price: Give us your oil as cheaply as possible. Or die.Don’t kid yourself.  Nobody gives a damn about suffering in Libya or Iraq. You don’t bomb a village to save it. The U.S., Britain and NATO are the bullies of the neighborhood. The enforcers for Big Oil.Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan have something in common. They have vast and extraordinary oil and mineral riches. As such, they are all victims of what I call the Vampire Wars. The Arab Princes get paid off, while the bloodsuckers pull the life blood out of the people. They’re scarcely able to survive in their own wealthy societies. The people and the domestic economy are kept alive to uphold the social order, but they are depleted of the nourishment of their own national wealth. The democratization movements are sending a warning that I don’t think Big Oil, or their protectors in the U.S. and British governments understand or have figured out how to control. The Arab people are finished with this cycle of victimization. They’ve got their stakes out, and they’re starting to figure out how to strike into the heart of these Vampires, sucking the life blood out of their nations. And woe to the wicked when they do!
